Self-Control

SELF-CONTROL: restraint exercised over one’s own impulses, emotions, or desires

Son eats his crust first, and then works his way toward the middle of his sandwich.  I didn’t think much of it, but then a parent at his school commented on how unusual that was.  So, I asked him why he eats sandwiches that way.

His reply: “That’s so the crust digests first and I don’t have that taste in my mouth at the end.  I like to taste the delicious middle last.  Also, it’s fun.”

I love his reasoning and I’m impressed by his self-imposed delayed gratification.

He saves the best for last.
